Alton Brown Releases “The Early Years” Cookbook

altonbrowngoodeats the early yearsTo further extend his ten-year anniversary celebration, Alton Brown has now released a cookbook titled "Good Eats: The Early Years."

Food critic Brian Ries describes it well: "Like Brown’s delivery on the show, the book is chock-full of information, ranging from important discussions of fundamental techniques to snackable factoids."

Fans of Alton Brown will instantly recognize that, by perusing the pages, they are being taken on an educational and scientific journey. The recipes themselves touch on facets from each of Alton's 80 episodes during the six-year time frame, and are complemented with photos and diagrams galore. And of course, hardly a recipe can be found without an extra helping of Alton's signature witty humor. ("Pork Fiction" or "Citizen Cane," anyone?)

The book is first in a series of two, and is a compilation of recipes from the TV show's first six seasons. The remaining seasons will be published in Volume 2, "The Middle Ages," due to hit shelves in the fall of 2010.
