atlantic-city-food-wine-09In past years, critics reviewed the TD Bank Atlantic City Food & Wine Festival as a "moderate Toast to the Coast" event -- nothing to rave about, but nothing to complain about, either. But this year, New Jersey's famed casino city is bringing in all sorts of celebrity firepower to liven up the festival.

The events starts July 30 with the Jim Beam Gourmet Pizza Bash, hosted by "Top Chef" judge Tom Colicchio. He is staying for a generous portion of the festival, and will be a featured speaker at other events including the Jeremiah Weeds Sweet Tea Barbecue Tailgate Party, the Harrah's "Food and Wine" pairing dinners, a healthy eating seminar, and an after-party at Showboat's Foundation Room.

The following two days are packed with several more celebrity chef appearances. Festival-goers can attend "An Evening with Emeril Lagasse" or "Dinner and a Movie with Ingrid Hoffman." Hoffman will also co-host a special presentation on fondue with Duff Goldman from "Ace of Cakes," courtesy of The Melting Pot.

One of the more extravagant entertainment choices offered is a $1000-per-person dinner prepared and hosted by the Food Network's Guy Fieri, host of "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives." This event comes to Caesar's on August 1.
