Grill Recipe

We've just celebrated Mother's Day, and soon Father's Day will be here before we know it. So if your dad would love a juicy peppercorn steak with homemade barbeque sauce, now's the time to perfect this recipe before you surprise him with it in June.

Ingredients:

  • 4 rump steaks
  • 12 crushed black peppercorns
  • 1/4 pint tomato ketchup
  • 2 Tablespoons soft brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 ounce butter
  • 1 Tablespoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley
  • Water

Directions:

Spread the peppercorns on both sides of each steak, pressing them in to the meat. Grill steaks to desired consistency.

While steaks are grilling, mix the soy sauce, sugar, vinegar and ketchup in saucepan. Add water to make at least 1/2 pint of sauce. Bring the sauce to a boil on stovetop, stirring occasionally. Pour sauce over the steaks and garnish with parsley. Serve any sauce left over separately.
