This simple salad looks like you have been working for hours to prepare it. Be sure to layer the ingredients, and use a glass bowl if you can. Make the dressing the day before to give the flavors time to blend together -- and it's a lot more convenient that way, too!
Ingredients:
- 1 C mayonnaise
- 1/4 C milk
- 2 tsp. dill weed
- 1/2 tsp. seasoning blend
- 1 bunch romaine lettuce, torn
- 2 carrots, grated
- 1 C red onion, chopped
- 1 cucumber, sliced thin
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen sweet peas, thawed
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cheddar cheese, shredded
- 8 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
Directions:
Place the mayonnaise, milk, dill weed, and seasoning blend in a bowl, and whisk until blended together well. Cover the dressing and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Place the lettuce into the bottom of a salad bowl. Spread the carrots over the lettuce. Layer the onions and then the cucumbers. Pour the dressing over the top, but do not stir. Sprinkle with the peas, cheddar cheese, and bacon. Makes 16 servings.
