DeLonghi Toaster Ovens & Convection Oven Reviews

DeLonghi Toaster Oven

History

DeLonghi has been in the heating business for over a hundred years in Italy. First supplying components for the commercial heating industry, then in the 70’s manufacturing their own brand of radiators for home heating. More recently, kitchen appliances for heating foods have dominated the product line. The DeLonghi name today is synonymous with kitchen appliances that wear a distinctly European designer look, and strive for originality of form and uncommon functionality in the home.

DeLonghi Toaster Oven Lineup

DeLonghi has a diverse product line in countertop ovens. From simple toaster ovens to large convection styles complete with rotisserie, all the models share a distinctive appearance and form factor, created by the DeLonghi design team in Italy. The details of the ovens are somewhat in flux, as new styles and designs are added to existing lines. The company takes great pride in the artful offerings produced by their stable of award-winning designers and engineers. The DeLonghi website showcases the designers with as much emphasis as the products themselves. This attention to form as well as function is refreshing, providing the function stands up to the demands of real-world use in your kitchen. Otherwise you just have modern sculpture taking up space on your counter.

  • 4-Slice Toaster Oven – The two models in this size both feature a modest sized 1/3 cubic foot interior, oversized door handle, and a simple set of controls. The Esclusivo model is cased in Brushed stainless Steel, with rotary controls for toasting and baking. The Digital version is black with Chrome accents, and has a pushbutton control panel with a digital display.
  • 6-Slice Toaster Oven – The main difference between the two ovens in this category is the appearance. The Esclusivo model is the Stainless Steel version, while the other is housed in a black plastic ”Cool-Touch” housing. Both advertise the ability to accommodate a 12” pizza.
  • Convection Oven – DeLonghi offers two ovens in the same size as the 6-Slice version, along with a convection feature. This adds a hot-air fan that can speed up cooking time considerably. In this category, you can choose between rotary controls, and controls with a digital display.
  • Rotisserie Oven – These are the big boys in the lineup, with the largest capacity (.7 cubic feet) and a the ability to cook a whole chicken on a spit, slowly turning within while all the fat drips off onto the enclosed drip pan. Both come with all the necessary hardware and a non-stick interior. One version features the convection fan, one without. A really helpful detail worth note- these ovens have an interior light, something lacking on many toaster ovens.
