good eats 10 year contestHas it already been 10 years since celebrity chef Alton Brown's show "Good Eats" first hit the airwaves? The pilot episode was picked up by the Food Network in July of 1999 (although Chicago's PBS station claims the first showing in July of 1998).

If you're a fan of the show, an admirer of Alton Brown, or just like to combine a little science with your sauteing, the Food Network has cooked up a contest just for you. They're choosing six lucky viewers to be a part of Alton Brown's "Good Eats 10th Anniversary Special" which will be shooting next month.

To enter the contest, just upload a photo or video (up to 1 minute in length) that expresses just how much of a fan you are of the show. According to the network's website: "Do you look like Alton? Show us a picture! Want to do a tribute to Good Eats? Show us what you've got! The idea is to be creative."

When entering, choose a catchy caption for the picture or video, as well as a 500-word description. Judges will be looking for creativity within a theme. Using footage from the show is discouraged.

Also, read the rules before taking the time to enter the competition. For example, you must be older than 18 years of age and live in the 48 contiguous states of America in order to submit an entry.

Even if you're not one of the lucky six that get to be a part of Alton's 10th Anniversary show, you can still purchase general-admin tickets through Food Network's website here.
