michelle obama iron chef americaA new two-hour episode of "Iron Chef America," due to air in January of 2010, is planning to take viewers all the way to the White House for a special cook-off. And as part of the festivities, special guest Michelle Obama will be featured alongside other big-name cooking celebrities -- a move which will likely get "Iron Chef" ratings to skyrocket even more than they already have been.

The current First Lady is scheduled to reveal the "secret ingredient" to this episode's participating chefs, who are none other than Emeril Lagasse, Mario Batali, Bobby Flay, and the White House Executive Chef Cristeta Comerford. Divided into teams (Mario and Emeril vs. Bobby and Cristeta), the chefs will have to cook a five-course American meal using ingredients from the White House's own garden.

The episode will also feature a special guest panel of judges, including former "Iron Chef" alum Mark Decascos, actress Jane Seymour, Olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin, and British chef Nigella Lawson. Ted Allen from TV's "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" will cover the floor-level reporting, and as always, chef Alton Brown will host the show.

Whether it's the prestigious location of Kitchen Stadium, the additional encouragement from big-name celebs to use locally-grown organic ingredients, or the big-name cast itself, this upcoming episode of "Iron Chef America" is bound to be talked about well past its premiere date. More details will surface once it gets closer to January.
