Celebrity chef and star of "Hell's Kitchen" and "Kitchen Nightmares" Gordon Ramsay has been slapped with a $41,000 lawsuit that involves one of his former restaurants in New York: Gordon Ramsay at The London. This is one of Ramsay's flagship eateries and is currently owned by the Blackstone Group, who purchased the restaurant in late 2009.
Wineberry America is filing the lawsuit against Ramsay. They claim he has neglected to pay $41,000 in overdue wine bills. The company says that they had an agreement to deliver wine to Ramsay's restaurant during 2007-2009, and that over time, he just stopped paying. Wineberry alleges he "never had any intention of paying" at all.
A spokesperson representing Chef Ramsay recently responded to the press concerning the lawsuit, saying, "We are in the process of working through any outstanding claims in regard to The London NYC, and bills will be paid in due course."
Representatives for Wineberry America and The London NYCÂ were not available to comment.
