great-chefs-event-fourth-annualTonight the Osteria restaurant in Philadelphia will host the Fourth Annual Great Chefs Event, a fundraiser to help raise money for children's cancer research.

Chefs present at the event include Food Network's Bobby Flay, Tom Colicchio from "Top Chef," and former host of "Dinner Impossible" Michael Symon. More than 25 world-renowned chefs will be cooking for Osteria's guests tonight, many of them James Beard award winners and nominees.

The event is always held in remembrance of young Alex Scott, a four-year old who passed away after being diagnosed with neuroblastoma. While she was still a toddler, Alex started her own lemonade stand and donated all proceeds to help find a cure for cancer. Soon many other lemonade stands around the nation followed suit due to her inspirational entrepreneurship, eventually raising over $25 million to give to 80 different research projects. Now her own foundation has been created: Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer.

Osteria's Great Chefs Event will also announce the arrival of a new non-profit organization created by the restaurant's executives, called Vetri Foundation for Children (or VFFC). It supports other foundations by raising awareness and funds for children's causes.

You can find the complete chefs' list and restaurant contact information here. Tickets are $250 for general admission and $400 for VIP seating.
