Celebrity chefs Anthony Bourdain and Eric Ripert are scheduled to appear at the Boston Symphony Hall on March 4, 2011.
The live experience is being marketed more as a celebrity cage match instead of an intimate evening among culinary friends. But no matter how the evening progresses, "An Evening With Anthony Bourdain and Eric Ripert: Good Vs. Evil" is sure to at least leave the audience educated and entertained.
Bourdain and Ripert are actually quite good friends, despite their vastly different approaches to the culinary industry. New York-based Bourdain is known for his off-the-cuff commentary and is often touted as "the bad boy of the food world." Ripert, on the other hand, is a classically-trained French chef known for his standards of perfection. He recently received a perfect food score of 29 in this year's Zagat Survey. So it's no surprise that the pair often refers to themselves as The Odd Couple or Laurel & Hardy.
"Part of the fun is that he has a reputation to protect instead of me," Bourdain said about Ripert. "I always feel like I'm getting him into trouble."
Audiences will be able to witness all the trouble for themselves at Symphony Hall on March 4. Tickets are available on Ticketmaster, and the prices range from $35 for general admission to $200 for a VIP meet-and-greet experience with the chefs.
