This week, yet another company has jumped on the Facebook bandwagon, much to the delight of culinary enthusiasts worldwide.
Cuisinart announced yesterday that the company has created an interactive Facebook group where chefs, foodies, and fans can gather to share their ideas, test out their recipes, and discover the latest news on upcoming Cuisinart products.
Those who join the group and/or "become fans" have access to several specific, food-related discussion boards and blogs. Users can swap recipe ideas, ask for advice on baby products or baby food, or even read a blog dedicated to the love of Cuisinart stand mixers.
The Facebook group startup is part of an extensive Internet marketing campaign intended to bring Cuisinart's accessibility into the 21st century --and their on-demand instructional recipe videos and new online widgets help accomplish just that. Downloading the widget to any PC or Mac platform enables users to bypass the Facebook group and access podcasts, videos, as well as Cuisinart's official recipe box.
Probably the biggest draw to the company's new group is the "Get Cooking! Recipe Contest." Any home chef can submit a recipe via Facebook to be judged by Cuisinart's own executive chefs. The creator of the winning recipe will receive an earth-friendly prize pack including a Vertical Rotisserie, a PowerEdge 700 Blender, and a 12-Piece GreenGourmet Cookware set.
