Easy Garlic & Cheese Rolls from Breadsticks

Italian Bread Recipe

rollsThese rolls are pretty simple to put together and are easy on the food budget. If you have grated Romano cheese instead of Parmesan cheese, feel free to use it instead. The cayenne pepper is optional. You can easily make an extra batch and freeze it for later as well.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (11 oz.) pkg. refrigerated breadsticks, separated
  • 2 Tbsp. garlic butter, melted
  • 1/2 C Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tsp. dried parsley
  • 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with foil and set aside.

Lightly flour a flat surface and lay the separated breadsticks on the flour. Cut each breadstick lengthwise into 3 strips, leaving about 3/4 inch at the end uncut. Coil the outside strips in opposite directions down and around the uncut end. Coil the center strip either direction around the uncut end. Pinch the dough together if necessary to hold into shape. Place the rolls onto the prepared baking sheet. Brush the top of each roll with the garlic butter.

In a mixing bowl, stir together the cheese, parsley, and cayenne pepper. Sprinkle evenly over each of the rolls. Bake 13 minutes or until the tops are a golden brown. Makes 6 servings.
