Today, celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse announced the grand opening of his new restaurant, Chop House, to be held May 22 at the Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
This marks a historic occasion for Emeril, since this will be his first restaurant opening in the northeastern USA. However, this will be his third restaurant as a part of Sands properties. His first two Sands award-winning restaurants are Delmonico Steakhouse at The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino and Table 10 at The Palazzo Las Vegas.
Patrons and fans can expect a variety of dishes on the menu as well as "new" New Orleans fare, including prime dry-aged beef, a seafood catch of the day, artisan cheese, and side dishes that incorporate local produce.
Additionally, press representatives assured the Bethlehem community that Emeril's Chop House is not intending to bring the intensity of Las Vegas along with its delicious food. In a recent phone interview, Emeril stated himself that he wanted to develop a long-standing relationship with the local community, and turn the Chop House into a real neighborhood restaurant.
The Chop House will open on the land previously owned by the Bethlehem Steel Corporation, a company that was an important force in Bethlehem's economy and community in years past. Hopefully, Chef Emeril Lagasse can expect the same long-standing entrepreneurial success on the land for many more years to come.
