The restaurant scenes in cities such as New York, Chicago, and San Francisco have always been a few steps ahead of the national curve, offering some of the finest dining to be found anywhere. These cities attract food lovers from all over to sample what's new and see how their favorite foods have been interpreted with modern twists.

And today, a new business venture expands its variety online, hoping to bring foodies even closer to their favorite metropolitan fare.

Foodie Registry is the brainchild of co-founders Ben and Jennifer Reid, two food lovers who were inspired to create the company from their own wedding in 2008. They asked guests to provide them with restaurant gift cards instead of standard items that one would find at a department store. A "restaurant registry" was created, and it was an immediate hit with wedding guests. Thus, the Foodie Registry website was born in 2010, initially partnering with restaurants in the Chicago and San Francisco area.

As of today, Foodie Registry is announcing partnerships with some of the most revered establishments in New York City such as the James Beard Foundation, 21 Club, L'Ecole at the French Culinary Institute, Junoon, Pescatore, and the multiple award-winning One If By Land, Two If By Sea.

“We’re excited to be able to bring our unique concept to New York wedding couples," said Ben Reid. "Nowhere else in the country is there such an array of phenomenal restaurants for post-wedding date nights, and nowhere else do newlywed couples have less space for kitchen gadgets or bed sheets."
