The Funniest Food Movies - a category in TheCooksDen's Culinary Cinema Awards.
Who Is Killing the Great Chefs of Europe? - A must-see for any true food-movie devotee. It's only slightly dated, even if it never was THAT funny. George Segal and Jacqueline Bisset are at the peak of their talents.
Eating Raoul - A couple of restaurateur-wannabes accidentally hatch a crazy plan to fund their venture. Partner swapping, murder, and general mayhem ensues. Funny and has held up well over the years.
The Last Supper - Cameron Diaz and friends in a tale of intellectual snobs who come down from their ivory tower to mix it up with the riff-raff over dinner. Still relevant, and funny, in these days of Red State vs. Blue.
God of Cookery - A bizarre food flick from Hong Kong about the rise and fall of the great God of Cookery. Raucously funny in parts, if only for it's over-the-top treatment of celebrity chefdom.
The Green Butchers - Features an entirely unoriginal plot line -- Sweeney Todd is only the most well-known Hollywood movie to cover this ground. But even with that strike against it, this one will make you laugh out loud. See it for an entirely Scandinavian take on a Hollywood cliché.
Dinner Game - Often cited as one of the funniest food movies, it actually doesn't quite qualify by our definition. Not enough food, but plenty of humor.
And the Winner Is...
Gai Tung Aap Gong - Greasy spoon owner is forced to up his game when fast food franchise moves in next door. Hilarious, if somewhat slapstick, but good luck finding it.
