jamie-oliver-g20-summitIt's only fitting that "The Naked Chef" Jamie Oliver, known for using all-natural ingredients in his dishes, was asked to be the head chef at this year's G-20 Summit-- an eco-friendly meeting of ideas to address immediate global economy and food safety concerns.

Oliver also brought along several apprentices from his chain of "Fifteen" restaurants to assist him at the G-20 Summit. These restaurants are part of Oliver's Ffteen Foundation, which exists to serve young people that are homeless, jobless, or overcoming substance abuse addictions.

World leaders present at G-20 were able to enjoy a slow-roasted shoulder of Welsh lamb, fresh seasonal asparagus, and wild St. George mushrooms during their respite from analyzing global food woes.

Sound like basic, local fare? Since the meeting was held in London, Oliver decided to present a course that involved "simple, seasonal and decidedly British foods." Considering last year's Summit meal in Japan involved an extravagant (and expensive) eight-course meal with 18 different dishes to choose from, it seems Oliver's plan of action was tasteful in more ways than one.
