KitchenAid Pasta Roller Attachment Without a Nonna to help you along, I'm not sure that making fresh pasta can be easy. But it can be easier with the KitchenAid KPRA Pasta Roller Attachment for Stand Mixers. With everything else you can use your KitchenAid Mixer for- kneading bread dough, juicing, grating, making ice-cream- why not also use it to make fresh pasta?

The stainless-steel set includes a pasta roller, fettuccine cutter, and a linguine cutter. Basically how it works is this: Make up some pasta dough (complete directions, cooking tips, and recipes are included). Cut dough into pieces about 3/8 of an inch think. Flatten each piece slightly before feeding it into the pasta roller to knead. Fold dough in half and roll again. Do this several times until dough is pliable and smooth. By adjusting the setting, you can further flatten the dough until you reach the desired thickness. Next, attach the cutter for the appropriate size noodle you desire and feed the flattened sheets of dough through the feeder. Voila! Fresh fettuccine. Lovely linguine. You can cook the pasta immediately, freeze it, or dry it for later use.

The pasta attachments are versatile with nine different thickness settings as well as durable (there's even a one-year, hassle-free replacement warranty). The attachments can not be put in the dishwasher or even wet washed, but there is a dry brush included for clean up (and toothpicks will come in handy, so stock up).

Not everyone has been blessed with an Italian grandmother. For the rest of us, there's KitchenAid Stand Mixers (which, by the way have been around about as long as your granny-- a good ninety years!). And, the Pasta Roller Attachments are made in Italy even if your grandmother wasn't.

Want the whole pasta attachment set? Here's a set of 6 for your stand mixer.
