Italian-American cuisine maven Maria Liberati's newest cookbook, "The Basic Art of Italian Cooking: Holidays and Special Occasions," was first released in September of 2009. Now, publishers are celebrating the second edition of this Gourmand World Cookbook Award winner, which was released this month -- and amidst the celebration, you might see your name in print.
The execs at Prima Media Publishing have launched their first "Share The Joy" contest. They are on the lookout for heartfelt holiday stories that complement Liberati's own culinary storybook. Says Prima, "We are asking readers -- all over the world -- to submit their very own brief personal holiday food memory and why it is meaningful. Readers can share the ways in which holiday recipes bring their family together, remind them of special occasions in the past, and why their holiday food memory is special to them."
Each entry should be roughly one paragraph, or approximately 300 words, paired with a photograph or holiday picture. Including a 30-second video clip is optional but opens the door for additional creative possibilities.
The entries must be submitted to Liberati's official blog. If the story has been selected as a finalist, it will be published on the website and be included in the site's permanent archives. A new entry will be selected and shown each week starting September 1 through March 30, 2011. Contest winners may even have their holiday stories included in an upcoming holiday publication. If a video is included, the clip may be featured in an exclusive interactive version online.
The "Share The Joy" deadline for submission is September 30, 2010.
