jamie-oliver-new-abc-showIn 2010, fans of Chef Jamie Oliver will get to see him grace American primetime television courtesy of Ryan Seacrest Productions.

The new show will be an unscripted, reality-style food program similar to Chef Oliver's "Jamie's School Dinners" already airing in the UK. In "School Dinners," the series chronicled Oliver's visitations of different school cafeterias around the country where he analyzed menu offerings, nutritional content, and overall health provisions for the children there.

But this time, Seacrest and Oliver are teaming together to bring that concept up to city-sized proportions. Oliver will be traveling to one of the statistically "unhealthiest" cities in the United States and working with town officials to revamp the community. While school lunch menus will be a focus, Oliver's producers say that other targeted areas of focus will likely be fast food establishments, fresh local produce at grocery stores, and restaurant/vending options available at office locations.

Since the show is still in its initial planning stages, the name of the city and series premiere date are yet unreleased. Although in a recent press interview, Ryan Seacrest mentioned that ABC has ordered six episodes of the new show, and that it may be ready to air as soon as January of 2010.
