This is a really convenient recipe to have on hand when you're looking to satisfy your sweet-tooth craving but don't want to go to all the trouble of cooking something in the oven. It's also a really fun and easy mix to make with your kids; just keep a few towels handy, otherwise you'll find peanut butter in a few other places besides the kitchen!
(Random Trivia Tidbit: The origin of the name of these cookies comes from Ohio, the "Buckeye State.")
Ingredients:
- 1 1/3 Cup Butter or Oleo
- 1 1/2 Cup Smooth Peanut Butter
- 1 lb Powdered Sugar
- 1 pkg. Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (12 oz)
- 1 Piece Paraffin
Directions:
Form butter, sugar and peanut butter into balls and chill for 1/2 hour. Melt the chocolate chips and paraffin together in a bowl and dip the balls into it, leaving a small peanut butter hole or "buckeye" at the top. Serve once chocolate has cooled.
