This appliance really takes all the fun and drama out of making s'mores over a campfire. Sure, you can make s'mores whenever you want. But there is something magical about doing it the old-fashioned campfire way -- even if that means that you can't have them on command. A perfect fire-toasted s'more is worth waiting for. And what about those of us who like our marshmallows burnt to a crisp?
At first I thought this device did nothing more than squish the s'mores while they cooked in the microwave. Then I saw the part about filling the device with water. So I see what's cool about it--it heats all the ingredients to the right temperature, hence the marshmallow doesn't turn into hot molten lava.
I guess this would be a great project for kids. But, again, wouldn't taking them to the woods to perfect the stick-and-fire method be an even better project?
Another drawback: You can't make that many at a time. So in the time it takes for you to microwave s'mores for the whole family, you could have built a campfire in the backyard.
