Rachael Ray Orange Oval Saute Pan Why would you want an oval-shaped saute pan? Good question. When I first saw this I thought it was for cooking on two burners. And you can use it this way. (I guess it depends on your stove design, really.) On my stove, the size of this pan works really well on one large burner. The oval shape takes up less space so it's especially useful when you are cooking on a crowded stovetop.

Another neat feature is the so-called "helper handle." The extra handle makes it much easier to get the pan from the stovetop into the oven or from the oven to the table.

This saute pan is very versatile. It's like a deep skillet and a shallow pot at the same time. You can use it for pretty much anything. Beyond its unique shape, this piece has all the features of Rachel Ray's other cookware, which is pretty good stuff. I hate to admit to that because I find Rachel Ray herself so annoying. But I like this cookware. It's lightweight, yes. But it holds heat well and cooks evenly. The hard-anodized aluminum nonstick interior is easy to hand clean. And the heat-resistant silicone grips stay cool to the touch.
