Coffee Steamer Machine MI-GL-04

Saeco Milk Island Frother Carafe The Saeco Milk Island is a milk frother for the Saeco Talea espresso machine. It steams milk to 160 degrees to create rich, creamy froth for a number of coffee and specialty drinks. Since this is a separate piece from the espresso machine, it is easily connected and disconnected for cleaning and use. Connect a hose, add milk to the carafe, place the carafe on the base, then turn the machine's steam knob to the Milk Island function and you're set. The machine steams and froths the milk in a matter of seconds. The glass carafe comes with a black plastic handle, base and spout. The carafe holds up to 13.5 ounces of milk. The unit is dishwasher safe.

This item is only compatible with Saeco Talea models. People have found that the attachment arm leaks water and that the froth is good, but not better than that which can be created by hand. Also, it seems to be vital to the frothing function to completely dry the plug in the top of the island. There seem to be other dampness-related issues which affect communication between the machine and the island. Most of these appear to be resolved completely by disconnecting, rinsing, and allowing the parts to air dry overnight.
