Today, Seattle chef Tom Douglas became the newest addition to global retailer Amazon.com's kitchen line, Pinzon.
Douglas is a renowned chef in the Seattle area as well as a successful author and restaurateur. He is a James Beard award winner for "Best Northwestern Chef" and obtained the "Restaurateur of the Year" award from bon appetit magazine. His cookbook "Tom Douglas' Seattle Kitchen" is also a James Beard winner for "Best Americana Cookbook."
The Amazon franchise announced the debut of the new product line "Tom Douglas by Pinzon," a collection featuring kitchen utensils, cutlery, cookware, grilling tools, and wine accessories designed by Douglas himself. He is collaborating with companies such as Nachtmann by Riedel, Microplane, Lodge, Epicurean, Kai, Wenger and Dexter-Russell to create quality pieces of kitchenware.
He describes his product line as "urban-Asian," and said in a press statement, "I spent two years hand-selecting and testing everything in my own kitchen."
Pinzon senior brand manager Kerry Morris says that the company is excited to work with Chef Douglas. Morris sought after the partnership because "he never tires and is full of fresh ideas," bolstering confidence that their new Seattle chef will continue to expand Pinzon's customer-friendly image.
