Sunbeam Mixmaster Stand Mixer It's natural to be suspicious of a product that costs less than half the cost of its competition. The price difference usually means one of two things- either the product isn't up to snuff, or the other brand's version is over-priced. It's sometimes hard to know which might be the case, or it may even be a combination of the two.

Sunbeam's Stand Mixer costs significantly less than those made by KitchenAid and Cuisinart. This could be an issue of brand names carrying a higher price, or it could be an issue of quality.

There is a 25 watt difference in the motor power between the Sunbeam Stand Mixer (300 watts) and the KitchenAid/Cuisinart Mixers (325 watts). The Sunbeam also lacks the splash guard that accompany the other brands.

On the flip side, the Sunbeam comes with 2 stainless-steel mixing bowls (instead of just 1 like the others), and a mixer base that features a bowl selector switch to accommodate the different sizes.

The Sunbeam also offers 12 mixing speeds unlike the KitchenAid which offers only 10. Sunbeam also boasts soft start technology and a Burst of Power function for extra power when you need it.

Like the others, Sunbeam's Stand Mixer has a tilt locking head for easy movement of the mixing bowls. And like the others, the Stand Mixer comes with three attachments: beater, whisk, and dough hook.

What in may come down to in all this is cost and aesthetics. If your budget only allows a Sunbeam, then perhaps it's a good starting point for you. If you're concerned about how the machine will look on your countertop (because there's no putting this baby away and pulling it out again each time you need it), then perhaps you should check out the other two.
