T-Fal Initiatives Inside and Out Set I'm just as skeptical about products that seem underpriced as those that are clearly overpriced. Still, there are some selling points to the T-Fal's 10-piece set of nonstick pots and pans.

First of all, nonstick inside and out means easy cooking and easy cleaning. The glass-domed lids have adjustable knobs to vent steam. Plus, glass lids allow you to watch the popcorn as it pops on the stovetop (that's a big plus in my book).

Also, and perhaps more importantly, the tough plastic handles stay cool on the stovetop and are oven-safe to 350 degrees. (I can't understand anyone who has pots with metal handles, especially if they also have kids. Talk about a burn hazard.)

The set consists of a 7-1/2 inch saute pan, a 9-1/4 saute pan, a 10-3/4 inch saute pan, a 1-quart saucepan with lid, 2-quart saucepan with lid, a steamer, and covered 5-1/3 quart Dutch oven that can also be used to cook pasta or soups. That really is a lot of product for very little money. Plus, to counter the skepticism, the cookware carries a lifetime warranty against defects.

This isn't to say that I don't still harbor suspicions. Why is it so cheap? Where was it made and how much were the workers paid to make it? What exactly makes it non-stick inside and out?

If you're not bothered by these unanswered questions, or if your budget forces you to ignore these questions, then this could be the deal you've been looking for. At the very least, you won't burn yourself on the handles.
