Celebrity chef Marcel Vigneron rose to fame as a finalist during the second season of Bravo's "Top Chef," achieving runner-up status behind winner Ilan Hall. Since then, he's been a Master Cook at Joel Roubochon in Las Vegas as well as sous chef at the Beverly Hills SLS Hotel.

Now, he's been offered another opportunity to bring his cooking back to the small screen... via the SyFy science-fiction cable network.

SyFy announced today that they have officially ordered more episodes for Vigneron's cooking series, "Marcel's Quantum Kitchen," which network execs say will "push the scientific boundaries of cooking." The network had first announced the potential new series in March.

The show follows his signature molecular gastronomy style through an event catering business, where he's asked to create menus around different themes. Some of these events include a Goth-rock fashion show, a fairytale graduation party, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a subway line.

SyFy executive Mark Stern is thrilled to add Vigneron's series to the network's diverse mix of up-and-coming shows, saying it "underscores the increasing breadth of Syfy's diverse brand. We couldn't be more excited to see [it] move forward."
