Unicorn Magnum Plus Pepper Mill GrinderThere is nothing wrong with the 9-inch Unicorn Magnum Plus Pepper Mill. It offers a comfortable grip and an easily adjustable grind. There's even a nut at the base of the mill's body that is independent of the loading ring, making it unnecessary to reset the grind after refilling the mill.

The mill holds more than a cup of peppercorns, and is easy to reload with a large hole on the mill's side. It's fast and efficient without needing a battery. And the nickle-plated heads in the grinding mechanism are sure to stay sharp and free of rust. The Unicorn Magnum Plus even comes with a life-time guarantee.

What does all this mean?

It means, as I said before, that there is nothing wrong with the American-made Unicorn Magnum Plus Pepper Mill.

Nothing, unless you're not a fan of plastic. While the mill itself is made of nickel plated steel, the body is made of ABS plastic.

Do we really need more plastic? I don't think we do. Especially not when there are other, more ecological, easily renewable resources available. Why not a bamboo pepper mill? In addition to being more ecological, it's also more attractive.

I own this and the smaller salt mill. You are absolutely right on all fronts, and it really is a great mill.

My other issue with it is that the rotating ring that opens to the refill port always seems to open during grinding.
