An exclusive gourmet chef & wine tasting event is coming to the Virgin Islands in December. It's the "2009 Virgin Islands Winemakers Dinners," a showcase for the best wineries across the globe to let others sample their best creations.
Winecrafters at this year's Dinner include representatives from Francis Ford Coppola’s Rubicon, Cheval des Andes, Weingut Grans Fassian, Tenuta San Leonardo, Grand Cru's Pierre Paillard, Weingut Reinhold Haart, and Terrazas De Los Andes.
There will be four different Winemakers Dinners this year, each featuring an elaborate seven-course meal paired with the wines. The courses are all paired by celebrity chefs flown in for the event, under the leadership of Halekulani's executive chef Vikram Garg.
Hosting the Dinners are celebrity chefs Anne Burrell (from Food Network's “Secrets of a Restaurant Chef”), Otto Borsich (former "Top Chef" contestant and Bellagio Hotel chef), Taekyung Chung (author of best-selling "The Korean Table"), and Roberto Trevino (contestant on both "Iron Chef" and "The Next Iron Chef").
Those interested in spending their December in the beautiful Virgin Islands and participating in a Winemakers Dinner should block out December 2-6 on their calendars. An opening-night VIP reception will be held December 2 on Norman Island, followed by a celebrity chef Dinner and wine pairing on each additional night.
