wolfgang puck oscars menu 2010For the sixteenth year in a row, celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck will be returning to Hollywood's Kodak Theater tonight to helm the catering of this year's biggest Oscar after-party: the Academy Awards Governors Ball. Puck plans to serve expected favorites and introduce a few new surprises at the Governors Ball to the executives and A-list celebrities in attendance.

This year's menu is created by Puck alongside fellow chefs Lee Hefter and Matt Bencivenga and will coincide with this year's theme of "Streamline Moderne," prompting a 1930's approach to glamorous comfort food. Guests at the after-party will be sampling Moet and Chandon champagne while dining on Puck's signature house smoked salmon (perhaps in blinis with smoked salmon and dill cream), chicken pot pie with black truffles, ricotta cheese pizza, and Puck's "L'Etoile de Oscar" -- baked Alaska with espresso glace chocolate sorbet and toasted meringue. And of course, pastry chef Sherry Yard will bring back her chocolate Oscar statuettes dusted with edible gold.

The thrill of serving his creations at such an exquisite event doesn't get old. In an earlier interview, Puck reflects, "The Governors Ball is a celebration of artistry and achieving your dreams. Our art is on the plate for everyone to savor and enjoy. We cast star-quality ingredients and keep the focus on flavor."

The Governors Ball at the Kodak Theater will take place immediately after tonight's 82nd Annual Academy Awards presentation.
