Those in the surrounding New Orleans area are invited to participate in the pilot episode of "Food Quest," a new potential series which is still in the process of being pitched to the Food Network.  It'll take place at the historic French Market, specifically the newly-opened French Market Produce area.

Chef John Besh, known from "Top Chef Masters" and "Iron Chef America," will spend the pilot episode discovering locally-grown peppers with the help of host Tyler Harcott, former host of "The Complex" and "Junkyard Wars." Harcott will attempt to convince Besh to eat some of the hottest peppers in the world.  A trip to the Tabasco factory and Taqueria Corona is also on the show's agenda.

"Food Quest" will also help to further promote the idea of sustainable agriculture, showcasing locally-grown produce options much like the fruits and veggies found at the French Market.  The producers are hoping that, by filming this first episode, they'll be able to attract more locals to visit the Market and not just tourists.

Those interested in attending the taping can do so from 2 - 5 p.m. on Friday, August 21.
