Chef Guy Fieri’s National Search For The Next “Pork-sonality”

pork-personalityPork lovers and meat chefs all over the United States may get a chance to prove their skills in front of celebrity grilling chef Guy Fieri in the National Pork Board's "Search for the Next Pork Personality" contest, as a part of The Other White Meat Tour.

Potential contestants can submit a video to The Other White Meat's official website. Judges will then choose three semifinalists to go head-to-head in a live grill-off with Fieri and compete for the title, along with a grand prize of $5,000 and a new CharBroil grill.

In each video submission, contestants are encouraged to submit an original "pork tip" or two that will convey their original grilling style. Submissions will be judged on original content, creativity, and a predominant love for all things pork. In Fieri's own words: "I want to see an awesome tip, an amazing pork recipe with off-the-hook flavor and a personality that's bigger than mine!"

This is only the second consecutive year for The Other White Meat Tour. Over twenty-seven cities will be hosting the event, providing free entertainment for food-loving families at each location.

Some of the cities on the Tour will also host a separate competition for Pork's #1 Fan, in which attendees can win a $500 local gift card by submitting an entry on site. This particular contest has a non-profit benefit as well; for every single entry, America's top pork producers will give 10 pounds of pork to a local community food bank.

The Other White Meat Tour may be coming to a U.S. city near you anytime between May and October of 2009. Check TOWM's site for details.
