Cuisinart Chef's Classic Cookware Set Anodized aluminum cookware has become very popular in the last few years. The technology of hard-anodizing aluminum produces a product that is very durable as well as being lighter and much less expensive than stainless steel.

This Chef's Classic set from Cuisinart is certainly a comprehensive combo of pots and pans. Your biggest concern when getting these home will be finding the kitchen space to store them all. This is a handsome set, all the pieces have solid stainless steel handles and the larger pans have "helper" handles as well for easier lifting. Break resistant (that means tempered) glass lids are included as well for the pots and saute pans. Also included are two inserts for the stockpot: a deep pasta insert and a vegetable steamer.

The interior of the cookware is coated with- I kid you not- the Quantanium nonstick finish which is "internally reinforced with titanium". Sounds like the heat shields for the space shuttle. Care and feeding of these pans include not using utensils that can scratch that fancy finish, and hand washing only. They can however be used in the oven at up to 500 degrees. Remember, aluminum is a very good conductor of heat, so a low to medium setting on the stovetop is recommended to keep things from burning. Cuisinart backs these products with a limited lifetime warranty against defects.

If you are shopping for a comprehensive set of cookware, you will definitely save some money by purchasing it all at once. If you are shopping online for the best prices, make sure you visit a kitchen retailer first to get a feel for the various products before committing to the purchase. You don't want to be stuck with one pan you don't like, much less an entire kitchen's worth.
