emeril 20 40 60Celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse's most recent work in print follows a highly-popular cookbook trend we've seen: how to get meals on the table in X-many minutes or less.  But in our fast-paced, time-crunched lifestyles, who wouldn't want a cookbook like that?

The book is titled "Emeril 20-40-60: Fresh Food Fast."  In each section, Emeril lays out a plan for cooking recipes in 20, 40, and 60 minutes (or less). He says this cookbook project was really fun for him to work on, and hopes it will encourage readers to avoid countless fast food temptations by learning how to cook a quick, nutritious meal in minutes.

"We're all busy and we're all working harder than ever and running in all kinds of directions, and I want to reassure people that they can make fresh food. The recipes don't have crazy ingredients. These are things that people have, for the most part, in their pantries," Emeril said.

The majority of recipes found in "Emeril 20-40-60" aren't gourmet in nature. Classic comfort food favorites are combined with flavors from around the world, as seen in Emeril's linguine alla carbonara, chicken salad with fresh herbs and celery, lamb kebabs, roasted red pepper hummus, steak au Poivre, turkey and pinto bean tostadas, or a good old-fashioned favorite like peanut butter & chocolate chip cookies.

There's something for everybody in this cookbook, which is Emeril's second offering in a 10-part softcover cookbook series. "Emeril 20-40-60: Fresh Food Fast" is on store shelves now, published by HarperStudio.
