JBF 2010 NomineesThe James Beard Foundation has recently released the complete list of nominees for the 2010 JBF Awards, a much-awaited announcement ever since the initial call for nominees back in October. While the official recipients of the JBF America's Classics Award have already been announced, the rest of the nominees will have to wait until May to see their name in lights.

Categories cover every nook and cranny of the culinary industry, ranging from Design and Graphics and Food Blog to the Rising Star Chef of the Year and Outstanding Restaurateur. Some familiar celebrity chef names show up on the list, too: Ina Garten, Ruth Reichl, Tom Colicchio, Daniel Boulud, Joel Robuchon, and Mario Batali to name a few.

An interesting tidbit from the nominees' list is the repeat nomination for David Chang, winner of last year's Best New Restaurant award for his highly popular reservation-only restaurant Momofuku Ko in New York City. His new cookbook, "Momofuku," is nominated in the Cooking From A Professional Point Of View Category. Chang shares the recognition with co-author Peter Meehan.

The JFB Awards will split up the awards ceremonies on two evenings, featuring Media and Book Awards on May 2 and the official 2010 James Beard Foundation Awards on May 3. The latter ceremony is open to the public and will be held at Avery Fisher Hall with hosts Lidia Bastianich, Alton Brown, and Wolfgang Puck. Those interested in purchasing tickets for the event can do so here.
